Swamp Milkweed is a 2-4 ft. perennial that enjoys full to part sun and adequate soil moisture. Can tolerate average soil moisture as well as standing water. It's native habitat includes wet meadows, riparian zones, swamps, marshes, lakes, and ponds. Thrives in wet, clay soils. This perennial has showy, pink flower clusters that bloom summer through to fall which give way to interesting seed pods. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. Host plant for the Monarch and Queen butterflies.
